ROYAL WINDSOR | |
Windsor Castle - We arrive in time to see the Changing of the Guard*. In the recently re-opened State Apartments, damaged after a fire, we see fine furniture, suits of armour and masterpieces by Rubens, Van Dyck and Canaletto. If the State Apartments are closed, we will see Queen Mary’s Dolls House.
Hampton Court Palace - Built by Cardinal Wolsey, who gave it to Henry VIII. In the State apartments, we see one of the finest collections of tapestries and paintings in Europe. There is time to see the sunken gardens, featuring England’s oldest tennis court and the notorious maze. Your guide will also point out the Tudor kitchens.
Afternoon cruise on the river - At Hampton Court we board a Thames Cruiser to enjoy a slow meander along the river Thames. We disembark at Kingston-Upon-Thames where we re-board our coach for the journey back to London City.
*At certain times during the summer there may not be a Changing of the Guard.
