The day starts with the air-conditioned coach collecting you from your hotel, or a hotel closeby. As it progresses around central London you realise just how much there is to see! By far Londons most popular tour - a great way to see the sights all in one enjoyable day. Here is the itinery..................
Royal Albert Hall- The Tour begins at 8am with an EXCLUSIVE visit inside the ROYAL ALBERT HALL, renowned for its concerts and shows. Only this tour will take you inside the famous hall. Many of Britains most famed lay to rest here, including the great Winston Churchill. We then drive on into town to see Trafalgar Square and the impressive Nelson’s Column, drive past Horse Guards Barracks and Downing Street, Parliament Square and Westminster Abbey. Here we see the amazing 19th century Gothic building housing Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
Royal Pageantry, famous shops and theatres - From Westminster, we drive to Buckingham Palace where, we will watch the colourful Changing of the Guard ceremony*. This cermony is steeped in European traditional. This part of the tour will also show you some of London’s best and brightest spots for shopping and entertainment.
(*at certain times during the summer there may not be a Changing of the Guard. When there is no Guard Change we will visit Horse Guard's Parade.)
A Day of History, Pageantry and Sights with Lunch on the ThamesLuncheon cruise on the river Thames - The Silver Bonito cruise boat awaits us for our relaxing luncheon cruise on the Thames, passing all the sights. The windows are double glazed for clear vision and our "Waterman’s" commentary will be heard throughout. After lunch you can take coffee on the promenade deck.
St. Paul's Cathedral and the Tower - Returning to dry land our coach will drive us to St. Paul’s Cathedral. You will hear about the funeral of Sir Winston Churchill and the wedding of Prince Charles to the late Lady Diana Spencer with time to admire the mural and carved choir stalls of the interior. Our tour continues to the Tower of London where you will meet the Beefeaters in their Tudor uniforms, hear the legend of the ravens and some spine-chilling tales from the Tower’s 900 year history. We have even included entrance to the Crown Jewels magnificently displayed in their new Jewel House.
Our return journey takes us past the Inns of Court and the Royal Courts of Justice, making our first drop-off at around 5.15 pm. It’s a day full of interest you will never forget.
